Someone sounds just a little bit biased towards Apple. Do you sit at home and wish your PC was a Mac? I know i do.. sometimes.

Also i read the BBC's article on the Zune's release, and while it was slightly less biased, it basically said the same thing; that the Zune isnt well supported and probably wont make a dent in the market. Which i completely believe. I mean, with all the innovations and gadgets they keeping shoving into that little hard drive, its getting hard to truly compete with the iPod.

Speaking of competition though, as long as were on the subject, what do you think about the Creative mp3 players?

Thank you Bill.

While the Zune came out today, it has received lukewarm attention for the following reasons:

1. Microsoft is abandoning it's already-established DRM scheme (PlaysForSure) so the Zune will not be able to feed on the monthly-subscription services (Yahoo! Music, Napster, etc).

2. While the Zune does include WiFi capacity, it's only allowed use is the "Share a song" feature, allowing users who buy music through the NEW Zune store to share that song with another Zune, who can then play it back 3 times before the song is removed. They would have hit a jackpot if the Zune could directly hit the store via WiFi, but alas, it is not to be.

3. Apple still has the "I'm cool" market. When people think mp3 player, they think iPod. iTunes still works, the music store is still (relatively) cheap, and they have TV.

4. The Zune costs the exact same as the iPod with the same capacity, looks like trash shit out of Quasimodo, and is encumbered by a shitty library manager (Windows Media Player), a shitty DRM scheme, and an even shittier market (the new iPod nanos are hotcakes, plus the new iPods should hit pre-Black Friday).

I say good riddance to the Zune!
